The famous American holiday of Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and with it starts the Christmas shopping season. As can be read in our previous articles, you can see everything that will be going on over the holiday.
For a slightly different Christmas shopping experience why not head down to the Brooklyn night Bazaar. For 5 weekends between now and Christmas, this 40,000 square foot Billyburg warehouse will be transformed into an after dark market where you can find everything from independent crafts to homemade treats.
Expect to see vintage clothing from Antoinette and a stall from Greenpoint’s Dalaga boutique along with one-of-a-kind Docksmith iPod and iPhone docks made from gnarled, reclaimed wood.
All of this to the sound of live music from various up and coming bands in one of the most innovative spaces in Brooklyn. Headliners include TV on the Radio guitarist Kyp Malone (Nov 23), synth-pop duo French Horn Rebellion (Nov 24), shoegazing popsters Pains of Being Pure at Heart (Dec 14), avant-noise vets Black Dice (Dec 15) and danceable agit-pop band MEN (Dec 21).
The selection of exquisite cuisine is brought to you by Kings County restaurants (Le Comptoir, Pok Pok NY) representing alongside familiar names from the festival and market circuit (Brooklyn Taco, Wooly’s Ice).
Entrance to the Bazaar is free and doors open at 6pm daily.
